PREMIUM QUALITY FROM JAPAN.
The Japanese word ""matcha"" means simple ‘ground tea’. Originating in China, it was used in traditional Chinese medicine in Buddhist monasteries as a cure for ailments. It reached Japan when the monk Myoan Eisai brought tea seeds home along with the tradition of Matcha as a drink. From then, the production of this tea specialty in Japan was driven to perfection.
Our Matcha is extracted from leaves on island of Kagoshima. The leaves are covered with fine nets, three to four weeks before harvest. This stimulates the production of chlorophyll, prolongs maturing and increases quality. The powder contains numerous vitamins and minerals like B1, B2, B3, E, C and K, along with calcium and potassium. In addition, Matcha is rich in beta-carotene and polyphenols.
By sourcing our powder organically we avoid the use of pesticides, artificial fertilizers or genetic engineering. This enables plants to achieve their actual nutritional value of vitamins and antioxidants. Research has shown that organic products have far more phytochemicals. Furthermore, organic farming contributes to preserving the natural ecosystem without contamination, promoting greater biodiversity and a better future for our planet.
